In the first part of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS vs. Formula E Gen2 review, I was insecure about the abilities of the E Gen2 in real competition. So the rivalry between the two went on - until today. Let's find out who the real king is!
Day #4 of Classic Season, from 1400+ points (Pro League) to 1600+ points (Champion League), the car with the higher average points per race wins.
Start-to-finish victories are possible with this car, but it's main strengths are its agility, its stability and how competitive it is on the track in wheel-to-wheel fights. But it also has a large drift radius and is too slow at the start to get away from opponents like the Peugeot 9X8. During the race, it's not really easy to keep them behind you either.
In fact, the races I lost against the 9X8 were against KECKE, who drives on a similar skill level as me. In the first race I got distracted when trying to make a screenshot, but in the second race, I had no chance despite full concentration.
The E Gen2 is made for start-to-finish victories. It's a nice starter and ultra-strong when in the lead, but weak in the midfield. It also feels a little instable, it especially doesn't like sidewalks and easily starts to skid or spin around completely.
But it has very good handling, even on nitro, and it's easy to keep them 9X8's behind you. Driving the E Gen2 through those long, fast Transylvania corners is an absolute treat. ๐
Summary
Maybe it was the German in me that thought, the Porsche could keep up with the E Gen2. But this review shattered my dreams of a competitive Porsche in A8. ๐ญ The Porsche is fun to drive and hungry for wrecking victims, but not a king like the E Gen2.
