oldman65 - There's an insane new bug (which I hope is not a feature). Every single non-purchasable decal in the game has been removed from viewing. You can still see them equipped on your vehicles if they were equipped pre-update, but if you select away from them, they disappear forever. I've already lost my Lamborghini Veneno Garage Kingpin Decal Pack (GKDP) decal in this way. All GKDP, TLE-obtainable or other exclusive decals are now removed from the game, even though players paid money for them in some cases (e.g. for the GKDP decals). This is a very serious issue, and I will contact Andreea and Gameloft Customer Care about it. The idiots at Gameloft claimed that they had "fixed a bug with the decals". Yeah, they fixed one display bug with the decals whilst they simultaneously removed hundreds of decals from the game. Incompetent, thieving mooks.

They haven't responded yet. But in the meantime, I've started a mini-revolution in the general chat of the official Asphalt Discord. Lots of players are now crying about their missing decals, even if they only lost a few. Some players have decals that are very precious to them that are now gone, or at risk of disappearing once they unequip them. My username at the Discord server is bold red, making me stand out very much. The colour of anarchy and revolution. Only Free Forum representatives have red usernames, as far as I'm aware.

oldman65 - I've calculated that around 20% of all decals in this game were deleted with the new update. I can find an almost exact figure with a bit more time. There are around 2000 decals in the game (perhaps a bit fewer), and around 300 to 400 decals were removed.

But I haven’t done an extensive search like you. Hope they restore everything ASAP, but we will likely need to wait until next week after the weekend. 😞

The research already existed... A lot of information about decals could be found at the Wiki. However, it wasn't all there. So, aside from combing through my own inventory, I scoured the internet for any videos or screenshots of exclusive decals that had gone under the radar, finding dozens of them. This included around 50 decals that could only be obtained via the Garage Kingpin Decal Pack, which was removed in the 2021 Lunar New Year Update (February). I have a full count of the total number of decals in the decals grid that I created on my Wiki user page. There might be a few more that I've missed, but it's no more than 20. I just haven't added up all of these numbers yet, but it's something that's fairly straightforward to do.

I remember a problem with decals years back where occasionally the game would randomly slap a decal on your car during a race that you never selected and you didn’t even own. I wonder why decals are so hard for the game to handle. I also wonder if they meant to create something new for this update to modify or enhance the decals for the cars and ran out of time and pulled it causing the issue we seeing now. 🤔

Meanwhile, players still own Mastery decals, but they can no longer be obtained. There is basically no longer any support in the user interface for exclusive decals. This doesn't make sense to me... Aside from their means of acquisition, most of these decals are perfectly normal, and many of them are also some of the best looking ones. Even the Lamborghini Sian's incredible 15th anniversary decal is gone, as is Neil's beloved Simple Mobile decal for the Arash AF10. It is ironic that in an update touted by Gameloft as a new age of customisation, they managed to shaft the single best customisation feature that has ever existed in this game's history, and to a colossal extent that is simply unignorable and cannot be swept under the rug. Also ironically, in the patch notes for the Eighth Anniversary Update that were released by the new CM Anna on the official Asphalt 8 Discord server, she wrote specifically that the developers had fixed a bug that was causing decals to be displayed incorrectly. To their credit, this bug, which was present from the 2021 Spring Update and onwards, has indeed been fixed (all it entailed was decals not displaying in the Garage properly when switching paint colours). Still, deleting 300+ decals from the game at the same time is not exactly something to be proud of. I'd rather have my 222 lost decals back than have this tiny display bug fixed. What a fiasco!

They have to fix this. They still have the decals. They need to be put back in the game immediately. Theoretically, everyone’s game data will have a record of which decals they owned, and all will be right again. 👍 A real shame they spent all this time working on this avatar nonsense when they could have created a cool car customization feature instead. Imagine being able to do something like creating your own unique paint colors and patterns. Maybe add additional, new decals. At least allow all the existing decals and paint colors to be applied to any car, not just specific cars. 👍

He has pushed my comments about the decals issue to the developers and to the wider community. The issue is going global, and the developers might not be able to ignore it now. EDIT: By the way, I have recently learnt that the former Mastery decals now cost standard prices in Tokens. It's a shame for newbies, but those Tokens decals have always been relatively expensive, so it's nothing new, in that sense.

oldman65 - WKPQ from the Asphalt Wiki (one of the admins) has figured out the nitro efficiency of the new TRION NEMESIS. It's not impressive, though still not terrible. WKPQ knows about my method of measuring nitro efficiency, and his measurements are usually very accurate, though he sometimes rushes in comparison to me since he has a lot more duties than I do, being an admin of the entire forum (I only just comment on vehicle performances and updates). TRION NEMESIS NE = 7.5/11.5/16

TRION NEMESIS NE = 7.5/11.5/16 Thx for the data. That sounds about right. Just meh like it was before. IMHO, it is unchanged. Don’t remember the exact values before; so, I can’t be sure. If GL had buffed this as well, this car would be killer. But now NE is its only weakness. Everything else is great to excellent on this car now. I love having one of my old favorites relevant again. 👍 I’ve been pairing it up with my Senna to handle all the twisty bits of track in Gauntlet and it hasn’t disappointed. Not quite the Senna’s equal in the handling/drifting, but close enough and better acc out of the turns with similar TTS. I’m very, very happy with this buff. 😁 Time to buff the Fenyr Supersport and Vulcan next to bring them into relevance again as well. 😁

oldman65 - According to the Asphalt Wiki, the old nitro efficiency of the TRION NEMESIS was 6/11.5/16. With that being said, some of the statistics may have been out of date or incorrectly measured from their inception. My method of measuring nitro efficiency is the most accurate one that I'm aware of. I didn't entirely come up with it by myself; one other user contributed to it, though I can't remember exactly who (it is possible to check this, if I have the time). The admins of the Asphalt Wiki were present around the conversation at the time that it occurred, so they witnessed the developments unfolding and might have adopted the method for themselves as well. This is why my nitro efficiency measurements tend to be slightly different from other players' nitro efficiency measurements, usually being higher than theirs by half-a-tick (i.e. I'd have 11.5 as my stat, whereas they'd have 12 as their stat). One important detail that I haven't mentioned here before is that I always round values to the nearest 0.5 after having converted the real length in seconds into a Nitro Efficiency Index value (which is 100 divided by X). So, a NEI value that originally read 9.3 will be rounded off to 9.5, for example. Whenever I measure nitro efficiency values, I also still possess the original nitro efficiency values, but I keep them in my own personal files, and I only publicise the rounded values. This is mainly for the sake of simplicity and clarity.

oldman65 - One statistic that I'm also interested in for the TRION NEMESIS is its exact acceleration. Some reports indicate that it's not as fast as the Centenario's, which might place it closer to the range of the Lamborghini Aventador SV's, for example. The TRION NEMESIS certainly has an advantage in raw top speed, but it's not huge. The scale is presumably similar to the Koenigsegg Agera RS's similar raw top speed advantage.
