Neil Out of the preceding list, this is the basic history of how each of the Multiplayer kings (2016 to 2018) was nerfed:- Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition --> Nerfed twice; first nerf took it from insanity to only slight dominance; second nerf eliminated it completely
- Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition --> Nerfed twice; first nerf eliminated it completely; second nerf incinerated it
- BMW M2 Special Edition --> Nerfed once; never heard from again; already useless a month after it debuted, due to the arrival of the AR8SE
- Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS --> Nerfed once; never heard from again
- Aston Martin Vulcan --> Nerfed once; wasn't terrible after this, but just average
- Renault DeZir --> Nerfed once; remains a decent car at its MAX+PRO rank, but no longer overpowered at lower tunes
- Range Rover Evoque Coupe HSE Dynamic --> Nerfed once; never heard from again
- Shelby Cobra 427 --> Nerfed once; never heard from again
- BMW M2 --> Nerfed once; remains a decent car at its MAX+PRO rank, but no longer overpowered at lower tunes
- BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage --> Nerfed twice; first nerf eliminated it completely; second nerf incinerated it
- TVR Sagaris --> Nerfed once; never heard from again
- Porsche 959 --> Nerfed twice; first nerf took it from insanity to only slight dominance; second nerf eliminated it completely
- ED Design Torq --> Nerfed once; remains a decent car at its MAX+PRO rank, but no longer overpowered at lower tunes
Note: The AR8SE and Porsche 959 aren't actually completely dead. They are competitive cars at the ~D1230 rank, and also at tunes lower than that rank. However, there are now many competitors at that rank, such as the Chevrolet Corvette C3, Acura NSX 2005, Mazda Furai, BMW M1, etc. So, they are good, but no longer brokenly-overpowered or exclusive. The SLKSE and Hommage are also mildly useful in the present day, after their second respective nerfs, but they're just ranked much lower than they once were, like the AR8SE.

GL actually could have done some homework and started releasing cars that actually COULD compete with the un-nerfed Arse. I mean they release a car every other week, they could have put the time in and picked sweet spots up through the ranks and left the Arse where it was. Woulda been a nice money spinner, esp for newies needing a car at lower ranks. They actually tried it for the Clubsport, who knows why they tinkered with that one. Yep shoulda left them all where they were and released better competitors. Of course I say that with a tear in my eye remembering the fun I had with the Carrera and M14A before they were nerfed beyond recognition This doesn't really works. If the problem is one single car, then you fix that one single car, instead of adding more cars that are just as bad. If one has a tumor, doctors just extirpate it, instead of saying "lets add a few more tumors hoping them can kill each other ala hypertumors (tumors of tumors that kill the main one)"

Neil List of cars that destroyed Asphalt 8 Multiplayer (2016 to 2018):- Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition --> Could lap even the SLKSE and M2SE in a three-lap race
- Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition --> Originally extremely rare, guaranteed wins against all other cars, until it became mainstream
- BMW M2 Special Edition --> A strong competitor against the SLKSE for a short period between its debut and the arrival of the AR8SE
- Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS --> Predecessor to the SLKSE, ruled a large swathe of mid-rank Multiplayer
- Aston Martin Vulcan --> Predecessor to the Lamborghini Centenario, dominated mid-to-high-rank Multiplayer
- Renault DeZir --> Dominated the low ranks in Multiplayer, before the arrivals of the AR8SE, 959, Evoque, M2, etc.
- Range Rover Evoque Coupe HSE Dynamic --> Took a large swathe of territory from the DeZir in the top end of the low ranks in Multiplayer
- Shelby Cobra 427 --> Dominated an area of Multiplayer above the Evoque and below the Camaro SS
- BMW M2 --> A powerful rival to both the Cobra and the Evoque in Multiplayer, on the margins of both of their two respective territories
- BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage --> Dominated a narrow stretch of ranks above the Camaro SS and below the Vulcan
- TVR Sagaris --> A powerful rival to both the Camaro SS and the Cobra in Multiplayer, on the margins of both of their two respective territories
- Porsche 959 --> Dominated most of the Evoque's former territory in Multiplayer, as well as the top end of the DeZir's territory
- ED Design Torq --> Was never dominant, but always a strong rival for the Cobra, M2 and Evoque in the low-mid-ranks of Multiplayer
Bro I been play,n this game since 2015 & have all them cars ! Not one of them destroyed nothing for me !

Now 💩 just got real stupid ! And I'm a f,n retard I know stupid ! Tumors are treated in multiple ways not Only by ectomy , But by adding medicine to slow the growth of tumor , To Try and shrink or loosen tumor because tumor is to close to vital organs or area,s ! To keep the tumor from coming back in the future ! So they are treated multiple ways ! So yes you can add things to combat things Or to Treat the bad car as you say . Some tumors can Only be treated by introducing something to combat it ! As in inoperable , I'm gonna go back to my bizness cause this bizness is wack ! The eyes are useless , When the mind is blind !!! See what u made me do . Pfff

But then GL nerfed it. Down-tuned it so that it was not really up to snuf against the ARSE. Some people seem to think that only the ARSE has taken a hit ... no, not at all. I was very happy to get the Clubsport, collect all the wild cards needed, spend all the FCs, finally get the car Pro'd, then 3 weeks later GL nerfs it. It felt to me like GL was just protecting the ARSE, making sure no other car could supersede it. After waiting for such a car for so long, that really stunk. I'm sure many ARSE owners were very happy about that.

With the festival cars they actually growing their own tumors... they are infecting the population with them. *IF* GL didnt release a new car every other week, then maybe Id agree with you. They are releasing cars for no rhyme or reason except in their own mind, and they are doing it over and over and over again. They keep performing the same wash, rinse, repeat formula without an end game. Its why you dont buy premium every single time, they are fishing you with the same bait and not worrying how they integrate the new cars within the structure of the legacy cars. We have had 45 festival cars, I'm pretty generous in saying that maybe 20 cars are useful in their own right, and you could argue another 15 are ok, and are selectively useful... means they could have taken 10 festival cars and actually MADE them more competitive against the one legacy car that might be classed as OP. Its likely we will see another 10 festivals before years end, and guess what... maybe 4 of those will be useful. And remember, they actually try to *FIX* it (twice) but couldnt, (they imo are not capable, but thats another story), so they took the easy way out, instead of letting owners use the cars they love (invested) in to drive. I have no vested interest in this car, but I know how it feels when you wake up one day and the car you put time and resources into suddenly is only good for gathering dust.

A8 was ticking along nicely for the first 3 years. There where some OP cars but they weren't crazy OP at all ranks and they were expensive.
Enter Vivendi. They decide A8 is to continue as a "going concern"
The Dev team now have the future of the game to plan. 1996 is when rank brackets should have been established and stuck to. If you needed some wiggle room in the future then the ranks of all cars could be adjusted simultaneously and proportional.
By all means increase revenue by putting out a Super Car occasionally but release rivals a few months later (more cash).
The tumor analogy doesn't work. You don't work hard and spend lots to purposely get a tumor then complain when someone cuts a little bit off. 😃
As an aside. We need an Nerf/Buff conversation thread.

I don't understand your description, "destroyed multiplayer" ?!? really these were just the dominant OP cars, anyone could go get them exept for a few available only from their respective event
you're omitting the insane MP4-8 which had the best accel in the whole game
MP4-25 was able to win against the fastest cars of the game on a short track, combined with skill and luck
Devel 16 was for some time one of the fastest car in the game with it's Elite tuning and could be added there too
AIE + X2 were the real "predecessors of the Centennerio", not exactly Vulcan as you mention
edit: read to quickly, this is concerning only the 2016-2018, removed what was post 2018

something that max/pro owners of the cars couldn't notice

I don't consider the 1695 --> 1672 modification to be a nerf, but yes, it used to start at 400-something, but now it starts at 800-something, and I'm not sure when this change occurred.

Yes, several of those cars could be obtained easily by all players, and others could be acquired with some hard work. None of the cars from rank 4 and onwards was ever as broken as the three special edition cars, but they were all far too powerful in comparison to most other cars in this game. The good thing about the current state of the game is that there are many more cars to choose from in Multiplayer, making it more varied and interesting. And yes, I'm aware of the F1 cars, but I don't consider them to have been particularly broken, at least, in terms of speed. They were mainly broken in terms of acceleration, which is a moot point these days, since many cars now have similarly good acceleration. Though, the F1 cars did all have pretty good speed. EDIT: But now, the F1 cars are all broken in a different way... they all skid too much. They didn't skid anywhere near as much in the past. The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 used to be easy to drive. Now, it's a nightmare. Same with the 2018 McLaren X2 and McLaren MP4-31. Though, I think the McLaren MP4/8 and McLaren M14A are still okay to drive in the present day.

this car should deserve a thread for itself
original stats :
sale offers :
the car was also made available with all other SE cars during the BXR SE Festival if I remember correct
unfortunately I didn't keep track of all the rank modifications but most of them happened during 2019
